Y'all

Sometime or other, you'll probably see me write (or hear me say, if you know me) "y'all." Now, I'm not from a part of the country where that's a common thing, but I got started on it when I started learning French and Arabic. In English, the plural "you" is the same as the singular, and sometimes that's just not satisfying. "Y'all" does the job quite well.

That's all I have to say to y'all for now.

  2. If you're wondering what sane is, you may need to find another blog. Here, there are many aspects of insanity, including:

    -overwrought creativity
    -English grammar
    -English spelling
-wanting to teach English in a country where you're an infidel
    -idealism

All of which happen to be integral parts of my life.

    Thanks for following!

  3. Us Pittsburghers say "yinz" or, alternately, "yunz." A blog, huh?

  4. Yup, a blog. The goal is for it to be a journal I won't lose under a 2-foot stack of papers. But now I've started blogging, I've got to admit I yearn for followers in a don't-bother-that's-not-the-point-but-it-would-be-nice sort of way.
